Flooding is considered the most catastrophic and complex natural disaster, Flooding occurs when water levels rise over the top of river banks or inundates land that's normally dry. it can happen in a multitude of ways and each may be affected by climate change. The most common cause of flooding is prolonged rainfall, a ruptured dam or river bank, rapid ice melting in the mountains. Floods can have devastating consequences and can have negative effects on the economy, environment and millions of people. Floods are very common in Pakistan. Pakistan has faced frequent flooding almost every year because of excessive rainfall due to climate change. there are number of small and large rivers and canals flow throughout the country. Unfortunately, most of the floods in Pakistan’s history have ruined large agricultural areas and caused a great loss of lives and property, damage to the economy due to lack of the government policies and arrangements for dealing with the floods.
